Superman, also known as Kal-El, is a fictional superhero appearing in DC Comics publications. He was born on the planet Krypton to Jor-El, a scientist, and Lara Lor-Van. Shortly before Krypton's destruction, his parents sent him to Earth in a rocket.

The rocket landed in Smallville, Kansas, where Kal-El was found and adopted by farmers Jonathan and Martha Kent. They named him Clark Kent and raised him as their own, instilling in him strong moral values. As he grew, he began to develop superhuman abilities due to Earth's yellow sun.

Clark Kent eventually moved to Metropolis and became a reporter for the Daily Planet. Using his powers responsibly, he adopted the secret identity of Superman, dedicating his life to fighting crime and protecting the innocent. He possesses abilities such as flight, super strength, heat vision, and invulnerability.

Superman's iconic status has made him a symbol of hope, truth, and justice in popular culture. He is often depicted as a noble and selfless figure, constantly striving to do what is right, even in the face of overwhelming adversity.
