Superman (Gods and Monsters), also known as Hernan Guerra, is an alternate universe version of Superman from DC Comics. He originates from a reality where the iconic Justice League is reimagined as a darker, more ruthless group.
Hernan isn't Kryptonian. He's the result of a genetic experiment conducted by General Lane using DNA harvested from a corpse found in the wreckage of the crashed Kryptonian ship that carried Kal-El. The corpse was actually the remains of a Daxamite, giving Hernan Daxamite physiology under Earth's yellow sun.
Unlike the traditional Superman, Hernan isn't raised with wholesome Midwestern values. He's raised in a laboratory, experimented on, and ultimately released into the world with a pragmatic, sometimes brutal, outlook. He possesses similar powers to Superman, including flight, super strength, and heat vision, but he is generally more willing to use lethal force.
He forms a close but complex relationship with Batman (Kirk Langstrom) and Wonder Woman (Bekka), creating a unique Trinity that operates outside the boundaries of conventional heroism. His actions are driven by a desire to protect humanity, but his methods are often morally questionable.
