Blue Lantern Superman is an alternate reality version of Superman who gains a Blue Lantern power ring. This transformation occurs during the alternate timeline storyline presented in the Injustice: Gods Among Us video game and comic book series.
In this reality, Superman, devastated by the manipulation of the Joker that led to Lois Lane's death and the destruction of Metropolis, descends into tyranny. The Lantern Corps takes notice of his immense power and despair. Hope is what he desperately needs to pull him from the anger and rage he has been consumed by, and a blue ring presents itself to him, transforming him into a Blue Lantern.
Fueled by the power of hope, Blue Lantern Superman seeks to restore peace and order, but his methods become increasingly authoritarian. The Blue Lantern ring amplifies his already considerable abilities, making him an even more formidable force in his quest for control. He finds it harder and harder to return to his former self.
His first appearance as Blue Lantern Superman is in Injustice: Gods Among Us: Year Two #1 (2014).
