Biography:
The Third Doctor, portrayed by Jon Pertwee, is a reincarnation of the time-traveling adventurer known as the Doctor from the BBC science fiction TV Show, *Doctor Who*. Forced to regenerate by the Time Lords for breaking their non-interference law, he arrived on Earth in 1970, marooned and stripped of his knowledge of time travel.
Initially working with the Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart and UNIT (United Nations Intelligence Taskforce) as a scientific advisor, he defended Earth from alien threats while searching for a way to regain his TARDIS. The Third Doctor was a man of action, a skilled martial artist (practicing Venusian Aikido), and inventor who created devices like his sonic screwdriver.
His era is defined by its grounded setting, Earth-bound adventures, and strong supporting cast. The Third Doctor first appeared in the story "Spearhead from Space" (1970).
