The Twelfth Doctor, portrayed by Peter Capaldi, is the twelfth incarnation of the Doctor, the protagonist of the BBC science fiction television program Doctor Who. He succeeded the Eleventh Doctor in 2013 and regenerated into the Thirteenth Doctor in 2017.
