The Sixth Doctor is a persona of the Doctor, the protagonist of the long-running science fiction television series Doctor Who. He first appeared in the TV show Doctor Who in the 1984 serial "The Caves of Androzani" at the end of part four, following the Fifth Doctor's regeneration.
Played by actor Colin Baker, the Sixth Doctor is characterized by his flamboyant and often bombastic personality, reflected in his famously garish multi-colored coat. Initially portrayed as somewhat arrogant and unpredictable, the Sixth Doctor's portrayal softened over time.
