Revan, a prominent figure in Star Wars Legends, began as a Jedi Knight of exceptional talent and strategic brilliance. His first appearance was in the video game *Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic* (2003).
Driven by visions of a looming Sith threat, Revan defied the Jedi Council's orders and ventured into the Unknown Regions, accompanied by his friend Alek (later Darth Malak). There, he encountered the remnants of the Sith Empire and succumbed to the dark side, becoming Darth Revan.
As Darth Revan, he led a Sith armada in a war against the Republic, nearly bringing it to its knees. However, during a Jedi ambush led by Bastila Shan, Revan was betrayed by Malak, suffering amnesia.
The Jedi Council seized this opportunity and re-trained the amnesiac Revan, hoping to use his knowledge of the Sith. Ultimately, Revan confronted Malak, defeated him, and helped save the Republic, though his past as a Sith Lord would continue to haunt him.
