Scott Lang, known as Ant-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), is a reformed thief and engineer who becomes a reluctant hero. He first appears in the 2015 film, Ant-Man.
Recruited by Dr. Hank Pym, Lang is chosen to don the Ant-Man suit, which allows him to shrink to minuscule sizes while also increasing his strength. Pym believes Lang's criminal past and engineering skills make him uniquely suited to protect the shrinking technology from falling into the wrong hands.
Lang embraces his role as Ant-Man, learning to control the suit's capabilities and assisting the Avengers in their battles. He becomes a valuable member, capable of infiltrating secure locations and delivering unexpected advantages. He is a central character in Ant-Man and the Wasp.
