Scott Lang, as Ant-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), is a former thief and electrical engineer who gains access to the Ant-Man suit and Pym Particles, which allow him to shrink and grow in size. He is recruited by Hank Pym to use the suit to prevent its technology from falling into the wrong hands.
Lang is portrayed as a somewhat reluctant hero, driven by his desire to be a good father to his daughter, Cassie. He possesses a quick wit and a generally optimistic outlook, even in the face of extraordinary circumstances. He is trained in using the suit and eventually masters its capabilities, becoming a skilled fighter and strategist.
His first appearance in the MCU was in the 2015 film *Ant-Man*.
