Henry "Hank" Pym is a brilliant scientist featured in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He first appeared in the movie Ant-Man, released in 2015. Pym is portrayed as the discoverer of "Pym Particles," which allow him to shrink or grow in size, becoming the original Ant-Man.
In the MCU, Pym is a former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who developed the Ant-Man technology. He becomes disillusioned with S.H.I.E.L.D. and retires, keeping his technology secret. Years later, he recruits Scott Lang to become the new Ant-Man, as seen in Ant-Man and the Wasp.
He plays a mentor role to Lang and works alongside his daughter, Hope van Dyne (the Wasp), using his scientific expertise and Ant-Man technology to face various threats and safeguard his shrinking technology from falling into the wrong hands.
