Biography:
Jean-Paul Valley, also known as Batman (Knightsend), is a complex and controversial figure in DC Comics. A highly trained assassin indoctrinated by the Order of St. Dumas from birth, Valley was initially presented as Azrael, a vigilante seeking Batman's help.
Following Bane's crippling of Bruce Wayne, Wayne, desperate, tapped Valley as his successor. Equipped with a more technologically advanced and heavily armored Batsuit, Valley's methods diverged sharply from Batman's traditional restraint.
Valley became increasingly violent and unstable, driven by his programming and a twisted interpretation of justice. He redesigned the Batsuit into a grotesque, heavily armed version, patrolling Gotham with brutal efficiency but alienating allies like Robin and Commissioner Gordon.
Ultimately, Bruce Wayne, recovered and determined to reclaim his mantle, confronted and defeated Valley. Stripped of the Batman identity, Valley embarked on a journey of self-discovery and redemption, occasionally resurfacing as Azrael.
