Batman (Blackest Night) is a reanimated version of Bruce Wayne, a prominent figure in the DC Comics universe.
This iteration of Batman first appeared in *Blackest Night* #1 (2009). Following his death during the *Final Crisis* storyline, Batman's corpse is resurrected as a Black Lantern by the Black Lantern Corps, powered by the black rings of death.
As a Black Lantern, Batman is stripped of his heroism and becomes a tool of Nekron, the embodiment of death. His primary goal is to extinguish all life and emotion across the universe. He targets former allies and loved ones, using their emotions to empower the black rings and swell the ranks of the Black Lantern Corps.
