Black Adam is a DC Comics anti-hero, originally appearing as a villain.

His first appearance was in *Fawcett Comics* Marvel Family #1 in December 1945. Created by Otto Binder and C. C. Beck.

He is Teth-Adam, an ancient Egyptian who was chosen by the wizard Shazam to be his champion, granting him incredible powers derived from Egyptian gods. However, Adam was corrupted by this power.

Becoming a ruthless dictator, he was stripped of his powers and imprisoned. Black Adam eventually breaks free and returns to wreak havoc, often clashing with heroes like Shazam and Superman.
