Teth-Adam, also known as Black Adam, is a powerful Kahndaqi warrior brought to the screen in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). Born millennia ago, he was chosen by the Council of Wizards to receive the powers of Shazam, intending for him to be a champion of the people.
However, the immense power corrupted him. Adam used his abilities to violently liberate Kahndaq from oppression, ultimately becoming a ruthless dictator. Deemed a threat, he was imprisoned for 5,000 years.
Awakened in modern times, Adam finds Kahndaq again under foreign occupation. He quickly resumes his violent methods to protect his people, blurring the line between hero and villain. His unwavering commitment to Kahndaq, and his willingness to use lethal force, puts him at odds with the Justice Society and makes him a complex, anti-heroic figure in the DCEU.
