John Stewart is a fictional superhero appearing in publications by DC Comics as the Green Lantern known as Green Crusader Stewart. Chosen by the Guardians of the Universe to join the Green Lantern Corps, he's known for his architectural constructs created using his power ring.
While Guy Gardner was initially chosen to replace Hal Jordan, Stewart was selected as the second choice due to Gardner's injuries. His first appearance was in Green Lantern Vol. 2 #87 (December 1971). Initially, Stewart was somewhat reluctant, but he grew into his role as a dedicated Green Lantern, serving alongside other prominent members of the Corps.
Stewart's background and personality often contribute to his distinctive approach to heroism and problem-solving. He is often seen as a more serious and grounded figure compared to some of his fellow Green Lanterns.
