Biography:
The Green Lantern, specifically Hal Jordan, has at times ascended to a near-omnipotent state within the DC Universe. While not explicitly referred to as the "God of Light" in mainstream comics, the term reflects his immense power as a Green Lantern, particularly when he merges with or harnesses potent cosmic energies.
Hal Jordan is a test pilot who was chosen by a dying alien Green Lantern, Abin Sur, to inherit his power ring and become a member of the Green Lantern Corps. His first appearance was in Showcase #22 (October 1959). The Green Lantern Corps are an intergalactic peacekeeping force powered by willpower, and Hal Jordan became one of its most prominent and skilled members.

Over the years, various storylines have seen Hal Jordan temporarily become entities of immense power, such as Parallax, which later revealed he became consumed by the entity.
