John Stewart, also known as Green Lantern and the Emerald Crusader, is a character from DC Comics.

He first appeared as Green Lantern in Green Lantern Vol. 2 #87 (December 1971).

An architect and former U.S. Marine, John Stewart was chosen by the Guardians of the Universe to become a Green Lantern, initially as a backup to Hal Jordan. He possesses a strong will and a dedication to justice.

Stewart's Green Lantern ring grants him the ability to create constructs of hard light, allowing him to fly, protect himself, and fight crime across the universe.

He has been a prominent member of the Green Lantern Corps and the Justice League, often representing the Corps in intergalactic affairs.
