John Stewart, also known as Green Lantern and the Emerald Crusader, is a DC Comics superhero. He first appeared in Green Lantern Vol. 2, #87 (December 1971).

An architect and former U.S. Marine, John Stewart was chosen by the Guardians of the Universe as Hal Jordan's backup Green Lantern. Initially reluctant and headstrong, Stewart eventually embraced his role, becoming a powerful and dedicated member of the Green Lantern Corps.
