Red Hood is a DC Comics anti-hero persona adopted by several characters, most notably Jason Todd. The character first appeared as Red Hood in *Batman* #635 (February 2005).
Jason Todd was the second Robin to Batman, eventually meeting his apparent death at the hands of the Joker. However, he was later resurrected and, disillusioned with Batman's methods, took on the Red Hood identity.
As Red Hood, Jason employs lethal force and a more brutal approach to fighting crime, often clashing with Batman and other members of the Bat-Family due to his willingness to kill. He operates as a vigilante, sometimes an outright criminal, driven by a desire for justice, albeit one twisted by his experiences.
