Biography:
Jason Todd, known as the Red Hood, is a complex and often tragic figure within the DC Universe. He first appeared as Robin in Batman #357 (March 1983), eventually becoming the second character to officially take on the mantle.
Initially mirroring Dick Grayson's lighthearted persona, Todd's Robin evolved into a more rebellious and impulsive character. This shift in personality, along with reader disapproval, ultimately led to his death at the hands of the Joker in the iconic storyline "A Death in the Family."
Years later, Todd was resurrected via the Lazarus Pit and returned to Gotham City seeking vengeance on both the Joker and Batman. Embittered by Batman's failure to avenge him by killing the Joker, Todd adopted the persona of the Red Hood.
As Red Hood, he operates outside of Batman's moral code, utilizing lethal methods to fight crime. He often clashes with Batman, due to their differing philosophies on justice. Despite his brutal tactics, Red Hood's motivations are rooted in a desire to protect Gotham, albeit through means that Batman cannot condone. His relationship with the Batman family remains strained but complex.
