Pietro Maximoff, also known as Quicksilver, is a character portrayed by Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

He first appears in Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015). Pietro and his twin sister, Wanda, volunteer for HYDRA experiments after their parents are killed by Stark Industries ordnance in Sokovia.

These experiments grant Pietro superhuman speed. Initially, he and Wanda align themselves with Ultron against the Avengers, seeking revenge for their past trauma.

However, after discovering Ultron's genocidal intentions, they switch sides and join the Avengers. During the final battle in Sokovia, Pietro sacrifices himself to save Hawkeye and a young boy from Ultron's gunfire.
