Jason Todd, also known as Red Hood, is a complex and often morally ambiguous character within the DC Universe. This version of the character is not taken from any movie or television show.
His first appearance as Jason Todd was in Batman #357 in March 1983. Initially conceived as a Robin, the second to Don the mantle after Dick Grayson, his origin and personality were later revised, leading to his eventual demise at the hands of the Joker.
Following his death, Jason was resurrected via the Lazarus Pit. This experience fundamentally altered him, instilling a sense of rage and disillusionment with Batman's methods. He felt that Batman's aversion to killing his enemies perpetuated the cycle of violence and prevented true justice.
Adopting the persona of Red Hood, a former alias of the Joker, Jason embarked on a campaign to clean up Gotham through lethal force. He directly challenged Batman's code, leading to numerous confrontations and complex philosophical debates about the nature of justice.
As Red Hood, Jason is a highly skilled combatant and marksman. He often employs firearms and other weapons that Batman rejects. Despite his violent methods, he often grapples with his past and his conflicting feelings for Batman and Gotham.
