Red Hood is a DC Comics character primarily associated with the Batman mythos. He is best known as an anti-hero vigilante.
The original Red Hood was a mantle used by multiple individuals, most notably the Joker prior to his transformation. However, the Red Hood persona most fans recognize is Jason Todd, the second Robin. After being murdered by the Joker in the comics, Jason was resurrected. Resurrected and disillusioned, Jason takes on the Red Hood identity.
His first appearance as Red Hood is in Batman #635 (February 2005), following teases in earlier issues. As Red Hood, he employs lethal methods and operates outside of Batman's code, leading to frequent clashes with his former mentor.
