Biography:
Moon Knight, also known as Marc Spector, is a complex character from Marvel Comics. He first appeared in Werewolf by Night #32 (August 1975). He is an adventurer.
Born in Chicago, Spector worked as a mercenary, eventually finding himself in Egypt where he was left for dead during an archaeological dig. Rescued and brought before the statue of the Egyptian moon god Khonshu, Spector experiences a near-death experience and claims that he was revived by the god, becoming his avatar on Earth.
Upon his return to the United States, Spector utilizes his wealth to become a vigilante. He adopts multiple identities, including millionaire Steven Grant and cab driver Jake Lockley, to better gather information and fight crime on multiple levels. His powers and abilities, including enhanced strength, endurance, and reflexes, are said to wax and wane with the phases of the moon. Moon Knight battles various villains, often struggling with his own mental health and the ambiguous nature of his connection to Khonshu.
