Moon Knight, also known as Marc Spector, is a character from Marvel Comics. He first appeared in Werewolf by Night #32 (August 1975).
Marc Spector is often depicted as having dissociative identity disorder. He is a former mercenary who, after being left for dead in Egypt, is revived by the Egyptian moon god Khonshu. Spector becomes Khonshu's avatar on Earth, imbued with enhanced strength and abilities that fluctuate with the lunar cycle.
Returning to the United States, Spector adopts multiple identities to fight crime, including millionaire Steven Grant and taxi driver Jake Lockley. These alternate personas provide him with different resources and perspectives in his war on crime. His mental state and reliability as a superhero are often questioned, making him a complex and unpredictable figure.
