Marc Spector, the man known as Moon Knight, is a complex figure within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Introduced in the Disney+ series Moon Knight, Spector struggles with dissociative identity disorder.
One of his alternate personalities is Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift shop employee in London, unaware of Marc's mercenary past and his connection to the Egyptian moon god Khonshu. Another personality, Jake Lockley, also exists, though his presence is initially more subtle.
Spector becomes Khonshu's avatar, empowered with abilities such as enhanced strength and agility, taking on the mantle of Moon Knight, the Moon Crusader. He is tasked with enacting Khonshu's brand of justice, often operating in a brutal and morally ambiguous fashion.
His first appearance in the MCU was in Moon Knight Episode 1, released March 30, 2022. The series explores his mental health struggles, his relationship with Khonshu, and his attempts to prevent Arthur Harrow from unleashing Ammit upon the world.
