Moon Knight, whose real name is Marc Spector, debuted in Marvel Comics' Werewolf by Night #32 (August 1975). He is a complex character deeply rooted in mythology and mental health struggles.
In the original story, Spector is an ex-mercenary who is left for dead in Egypt. He is revived by the Egyptian moon god Khonshu and granted supernatural abilities. He then dedicates himself to serving Khonshu and protecting the innocent.
Moon Knight is known for his multiple personalities, which were later revealed to be a result of Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID).
