Benjamin "Ben" Grimm, better known as Thing, is a fictional character appearing in Marvel Comics' Fantastic Four series. He first appeared in *Fantastic Four* #1 (November 1961).
Grimm was a skilled pilot and college football star before becoming a superhero. During an unauthorized test flight in space with Reed Richards, Sue Storm, and Johnny Storm, cosmic radiation transformed him into a monstrous, rock-like creature.
Despite his fearsome appearance, Thing is a loyal and good-hearted character. He possesses superhuman strength, stamina, and durability. Though he initially resented his transformation, he accepts his role as a hero and a vital member of the Fantastic Four.
