Benjamin "Ben" Grimm, known as Thing, is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He is a founding member of the Fantastic Four.
Thing first appeared in Fantastic Four #1 (November , ). Grimm was a skilled pilot and college football star before becoming a superhero.
During an unauthorized space flight, cosmic rays transformed Grimm into a large, orange, rock-like humanoid with immense strength and durability.
