Biography:
Norrin Radd, known as the Silver Surfer, first appeared in Marvel Comics' *Fantastic Four* #48 (March 1966).
Born on the planet Zenn-La, Radd bargained with Galactus, a cosmic being who consumes planets, to spare his home world. He agreed to become Galactus' herald, seeking out new worlds for him to devour. In exchange, Galactus imbued him with the Power Cosmic, transforming him into the Silver Surfer, granting him incredible speed, strength, and cosmic awareness. He also gave him a silvery, metallic appearance and a surfboard-like vehicle to traverse space.
Eventually, the Surfer was sent to Earth to prepare it for Galactus' consumption. However, he was moved by humanity's plight and ultimately turned against his master, helping the Fantastic Four repel Galactus. As punishment, Galactus imprisoned the Silver Surfer on Earth, preventing him from leaving the planet's atmosphere.
