Biography:
The Silver Surfer, originally known as Norrin Radd, first appeared in *The Fantastic Four* #48 (March 1966). He is a humanoid alien from the planet Zenn-La.
He volunteered to become the herald of Galactus, a cosmic entity who consumes planets to sustain himself, in exchange for Galactus sparing Zenn-La. Galactus imbued him with the Power Cosmic, transforming him into the Silver Surfer, a being of immense power with a silver, metallic appearance and a surfboard-like craft.
While the Silver Surfer initially served Galactus, leading him to uninhabited worlds, he eventually rebelled upon finding Earth and witnessing the value of its life and humanity. This act of defiance led Galactus to imprison him on Earth.
The Silver Surfer, including variations in his chrome-like appearance, is a recurring character throughout the Marvel universe, often grappling with his past servitude and striving to protect innocent life throughout the cosmos.
