The Silver Surfer, specifically the chrome variant, is a popular character originating from Marvel Comics.
His first appearance was in *Fantastic Four* #48 (March 1966).
Originally known as Norrin Radd, he hailed from the planet Zenn-La. He bargained with Galactus, a cosmic entity who consumes planets, to spare his home world. In exchange, Norrin agreed to become Galactus' herald, searching the cosmos for planets to feed his master.
Galactus transformed Norrin, granting him immense cosmic power and a silver, metallic skin, as well as a surfboard-like craft that allows him to travel at incredible speeds through space. As the Silver Surfer, he eventually rebelled against Galactus after experiencing the value of life on Earth, becoming a protector of the innocent and a defender against cosmic threats.
