Eobard Thawne, also known as the Reverse-Flash, is a major antagonist in The CW's Arrowverse, primarily within the *Flash* TV Show. He is a speedster from the future obsessed with Barry Allen, the Flash, and driven by a deep-seated hatred for him.
Thawne traveled back in time and murdered Nora Allen, Barry's mother, setting in motion the events that would ultimately lead to Barry becoming the Flash. He initially impersonated Dr. Harrison Wells, a brilliant scientist, manipulating events to ensure Barry gained his powers.
The Reverse-Flash's first appearance was in the *Flash* TV Show episode "Pilot", as a blurred figure. His true identity and motives were revealed throughout the first season. He is portrayed by multiple actors throughout the series, primarily Tom Cavanagh as Harrison Wells and Matt Letscher as Eobard Thawne's original form.
He frequently returns to torment Barry and his allies, becoming a persistent threat despite being seemingly defeated on numerous occasions.
