Biography:
Eobard Thawne, also known as the Reverse-Flash, is a major antagonist in The CW's Arrowverse, particularly in the series *The Flash*. He is a speedster from the future, specifically the 22nd century, obsessed with Barry Allen and driven by a deep-seated hatred. His motivations stem from a desire to erase The Flash from existence and claim his powers and recognition for himself.
Thawne travels back in time and orchestrates events to manipulate Barry's life, including killing Barry's mother, Nora Allen. He assumes the identity of Harrison Wells, a brilliant scientist, by killing the real Wells and using a device to mimic his appearance. As Wells, he guides and mentors Barry, pushing him to become faster and ultimately creating the Flash to serve his own twisted purposes.
The Reverse-Flash first appears in the pilot episode of *The Flash* (The CW, 2014), although his true identity and motivations are gradually revealed throughout the first season. He remains a recurring threat across the Arrowverse, frequently reappearing through time travel paradoxes and alternate timelines.
