Jason Voorhees is a central figure in the 'Friday the 13th' horror franchise. Severely disfigured, he supposedly drowned at Camp Crystal Lake as a child due to the negligence of the camp counselors.
Driven by a vengeful rage over his perceived abandonment and death, Jason is a silent and brutal killer who relentlessly stalks and murders anyone who trespasses on his territory. His first appearance was in *Friday the 13th* (1980) as a deformed child.
Jason is recognized by his hockey mask, which he acquires in *Friday the 13th Part III*. He's commonly depicted as nearly invulnerable, capable of surviving injuries that would kill most people. His strength and ruthlessness have made him a slasher icon.
