Iron Patriot is a character primarily associated with the Marvel Comics universe, though the identity has been assumed by different individuals. The most well-known iteration is Norman Osborn, the former Green Goblin.
Osborn created the Iron Patriot persona after the events of the "Secret Invasion" storyline. He appropriated Stark technology, specifically a suit of armor that resembled a hybrid of Iron Man and Captain America, and painted it red, white, and blue. He portrayed himself as a hero, leveraging the public's distrust of Tony Stark.
While presenting himself as America's protector, Osborn secretly used the Iron Patriot armor to further his own sinister agenda as the head of H.A.M.M.E.R., his replacement for S.H.I.E.L.D. His actions and mental instability eventually led to his downfall.
Other characters have also briefly worn the Iron Patriot armor, including James Rhodes and even briefly, a modified version piloted by Enid Blyton (in an alternate universe).
