Biography:

Captain America (Secret Empire) is a controversial version of Steve Rogers from an alternate reality within the Marvel Multiverse, specifically Earth-61311.

This version of Captain America, sometimes referred to as "Hydra Cap", was a sleeper agent for Hydra, brainwashed and his history rewritten by the sentient Cosmic Cube Kobik. This manipulation led him to believe he had been a Hydra agent since childhood.

He orchestrated a takeover of the United States in the "Secret Empire" storyline, exploiting his position of trust and authority to further Hydra's agenda. His first appearance in this corrupted form was heavily foreshadowed and then revealed through Captain America: Steve Rogers #1 (2016).

This iteration of the character was particularly divisive among fans due to the drastic shift in Captain America's established morality and heroic ideals.
