Biography:
Captain America, as portrayed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), is a central figure in the Avengers. His first appearance in the MCU was in the 2011 film, Captain America: The First Avenger. Born Steve Rogers, a frail but patriotic young man, he was deemed unfit for military service during World War II.
Rogers volunteered for a top-secret program, Project Rebirth, which transformed him into a super-soldier. Injected with the Super-Soldier Serum and exposed to "vita-rays," he gained peak human strength, agility, and durability.
After the war, Captain America was accidentally frozen in ice and remained in suspended animation for nearly seventy years.
