Biography:
Captain America is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by cartoonists Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, the character first appeared in *Captain America Comics* #1 (March 1941) from Timely Comics, a predecessor to Marvel Comics.
Born Steven Rogers, he was a frail young man deemed unfit for military service during World War II. Desperate to serve his country, Rogers volunteered for a top-secret government program called "Project: Rebirth." This program involved administering an experimental "Super-Soldier Serum" and "Vita-Rays," transforming Rogers into the physically perfect Captain America.
As Captain America, he became a symbol of American ideals and fought against the Axis powers. He wore a distinctive costume based on the American flag and carried an indestructible shield made of a vibranium alloy. He led the charge as an Infantry Super Soldier to protect the values that are important to all of humanity. He is not superhuman, but the serum has put him at the peak of human potential.
