Bartholomew "Barry" Allen, known as Flash (S4 onward), is a central character in The CW's Arrowverse television series, "The Flash." He's portrayed by Grant Gustin.
A forensic scientist for the Central City Police Department, Barry gains superhuman speed after being struck by lightning and exposed to chemicals from a particle accelerator explosion at S.T.A.R. Labs. This grants him access to the Speed Force, a cosmic energy field.
