Danny Rand, as portrayed in the Netflix Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) TV shows, is the Iron Fist, a martial arts master with the ability to summon the power of the Iron Fist. He first appears in Iron Fist (2017) TV show.
Orphaned as a child, Rand survived a plane crash in the Himalayas and was taken to the mystical city of K'un-Lun. There, he trained rigorously in martial arts, ultimately earning the right to face the dragon Shou-Lao the Undying. By defeating the dragon, Rand gained the power to channel his chi into a powerful, glowing fist, earning him the title of Iron Fist.
Returning to New York City after fifteen years, Rand inherits his family's company, Rand Enterprises, while also fighting crime and corruption as the Iron Fist. He struggles with the responsibility of his power and the duality of his past and present, often collaborating with other heroes from the Defenders team.
