Iron Fist, also known as Danny Rand, is a fictional character appearing in Marvel Comics. He first appeared in Marvel Premiere #15 (May 1974).
Danny Rand is a martial arts expert with the ability to summon and focus his chi, allowing him to enhance his physical abilities to superhuman levels. This power, known as the Iron Fist, manifests as a glowing fist.
After his parents died during an expedition to the mystical city of K'un-Lun, Danny was taken in and trained by the monks of K'un-Lun. He mastered their martial arts and earned the right to fight the dragon Shou-Lao the Undying, defeating it and gaining the Iron Fist power.
