Biography:

Daniel Rand, known as Iron Fist, first appeared in *Marvel Premiere* #15 (May 1974).

After his parents died, during an expedition to the mystical city of K'un-Lun, young Daniel was taken in and trained by Lei Kung the Thunderer. He rigorously pursued martial arts and inner peace.

Eventually, Daniel earned the right to challenge Shou-Lao the Undying, a dragon protecting the Iron Fist. By plunging his fists into the dragon's molten heart he was granted the power of the Iron Fist, enabling him to channel his chi for superhuman strength, speed, and durability. He's now able to deliver a devastating punch.

Iron Fist returned to New York to avenge his parents' death and use his powers to fight injustice.
