Biography:
Edward Scissorhands is the titular character from the film Edward Scissorhands, released in 1990. Played by Johnny Depp, Edward is an artificial humanoid created by an eccentric inventor (Vincent Price) who dies before completing him, leaving Edward with scissor blades for hands.
He is discovered living alone in the inventor's mansion by Peg Boggs (Dianne Wiest), a kind Avon saleswoman, who takes him home to her suburban family. Despite his unusual appearance, Edward possesses a gentle and artistic nature, using his scissorhands to create beautiful sculptures from hedges and ice, as well as stylish haircuts.
Edward's presence disrupts the conformity of the town, initially embraced for his talents but later feared and ostracized due to misunderstandings and prejudices. He falls in love with Kim Boggs (Winona Ryder), Peg's teenage daughter, but their relationship is complicated by his inability to physically express his affection without causing harm. Edward ultimately retreats back to his mansion, where he continues to create his art in solitude.
