Edward Scissorhands is the titular character of the 1990 Tim Burton film, Edward Scissorhands, portrayed by Johnny Depp. He is an artificial humanoid being created by an eccentric inventor (Vincent Price) who dies before completing Edward's hands, leaving him with scissor blades instead.
Found living alone in the inventor's mansion, Edward is taken in by Peg Boggs, a kind Avon lady. He struggles to adapt to suburban life, but his scissor hands prove surprisingly adept at sculpting hedges, cutting hair, and creating ice sculptures.
Despite his artistic talents, Edward's unusual appearance and accidental injuries lead to misunderstandings and fear within the community. Ultimately, he retreats back to his solitary existence in the mansion, where he continues to create his art.
