Edward Scissorhands is a fictional character, portrayed by Johnny Depp, in Tim Burton's 1990 film, Edward Scissorhands.
He is an artificial man created by an eccentric inventor (Vincent Price) who tragically dies before completing Edward, leaving him with scissor blades for hands.
Edward lives alone in the inventor's mansion until Peg Boggs, a kind Avon lady, discovers him and brings him to live with her family in the brightly colored suburban town. Edward displays incredible talent as a topiary artist and hairstylist.
His unique skills initially endear him to the community, but suspicion and fear eventually turn the town against him.
