Baby Groot is a character from Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. He is a sapling version of the original Groot, a sentient tree-like being who sacrificed himself to save the team in the first film. Baby Groot first appeared in the post-credits scene of Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014.

This iteration of Groot is significantly smaller and more childlike than his predecessor. He retains Groot's limited vocabulary, only able to say "I am Groot," but his intonation and body language convey a wider range of emotions.
