Poison Ivy, also known as Pamela Isley, is a prominent character in DC Comics. She first appeared in Batman #181 (June 1966). Originally a promising botany student, Isley was experimented on by Dr. Jason Woodrue, resulting in her transformation into a human-plant hybrid. She is immune to all poisons, toxins, bacteria, and viruses, and is able to excrete them from her skin. She possesses a toxic touch and mind-controlling pheromones and telepathy which she uses to command plant life. Her goal is to protect plant life from humanity, which she views as a destructive force.
In the Arkham Knight series, Poison Ivy plays a crucial, if reluctant, role in assisting Batman against the Scarecrow's forces. She ultimately sacrifices herself to save Gotham City by unleashing a burst of plant energy to cleanse the city of Scarecrow's fear toxin.
