Poison Ivy, also known as Pamela Lillian Isley, is a prominent Batman villain in DC Comics. She first appeared in Batman #181 (June 1966) created by Robert Kanigher and Sheldon Moldoff.
Isley was a promising botany student who was seduced and experimented on by her professor, Dr. Jason Woodrue. These experiments imbued her with toxins, transforming her into Poison Ivy. She gained the ability to control plant life and secrete potent poisons from her skin.
Poison Ivy is often depicted as an eco-terrorist, dedicated to protecting plant life at any cost, viewing humanity as a threat to the natural world. Her motivations frequently revolve around safeguarding the environment.
