Dr. Pamela Lillian Isley, better known as Poison Ivy, is a prominent villain in the DC Comics universe. First appearing in Batman #181 (June 1966), created by Robert Kanigher and Sheldon Moldoff, she is a botanist turned eco-terrorist.

Her transformation into Poison Ivy stems from experiments where she's injected with plant toxins. This grants her control over plant life, making her immune to all toxins and diseases, as well as secreting potent toxins from her skin.

Often portrayed as an adversary of Batman, Poison Ivy's motivations center on protecting plant life, often at the expense of humanity. She wields her botanical powers to seduce, control, and eliminate those she deems a threat to the natural world. She is often seen as a member of the Gotham City Sirens alongside Harley Quinn and Catwoman.
